As a Safety Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that IBM operations in your assigned location comply with all applicable health and safety regulations and IBM Global Safety standards. You will play a key role in promoting a culture of prevention, employee health, and well-being, supporting both operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Main responsibilities include:
Develop, implement, and monitor occupational safety programs aligned with IBM Global Safety standards and local legislation.
Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analyses to identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Support the implementation and maintenance of the Occupational Risk Management Program (GRO) and the Occupational Health Medical Control Program (PCMSO).
Lead or assist in incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure the effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare and maintain safety documentation, technical reports, and performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to strengthen the preventive culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Facilities, HR, Legal, and Finance — to address compliance, employee relations, and operational safety matters.
Manage and evaluate service providers and contractors to ensure adherence to IBM safety requirements.
Support environmental and emergency preparedness initiatives, ensuring readiness for audits and inspections.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, and optimize safety processes.
Provide professional guidance and consultation to employees and managers regarding safe practices, legal requirements, and IBM Global Safety policies.
Como Técnico(a) de Segurança do Trabalho, você será responsável por garantir que as operações da IBM nas localidades sob sua responsabilidade estejam em conformidade com as regulamentações de saúde e segurança aplicáveis e com os padrões da IBM Global Safety. Você terá papel essencial na promoção de uma cultura de prevenção, saúde e bem-estar, apoiando tanto a excelência operacional quanto o cumprimento das obrigações legais.
Principais responsabilidades incluem:
Desenvolver, implementar e monitorar programas de segurança ocupacional alinhados aos padrões da IBM Global Safety e à legislação vigente.
Realizar inspeções de segurança, avaliações de riscos e análises de perigos para identificar condições inseguras e recomendar ações corretivas.
Apoiar na implementação e manutenção do Programa de Gerenciamento de Riscos Ocupacionais (GRO) e do Programa de Controle Médico e Saúde Ocupacional (PCMSO).
Conduzir ou apoiar investigações de incidentes, aplicar metodologias de análise de causa raiz e assegurar a implementação efetiva das ações corretivas e preventivas.
Elaborar e manter documentação técnica, relatórios e indicadores de desempenho (KPIs) para acompanhamento gerencial.
Coordenar e ministrar treinamentos, diálogos de segurança (DDS) e campanhas de conscientização voltadas ao fortalecimento da cultura preventiva.
Colaborar com equipes multidisciplinares — incluindo Facilities, Recursos Humanos, Jurídico e Finanças — em assuntos relacionados à conformidade, relações trabalhistas e segurança operacional.
Gerenciar e avaliar fornecedores e prestadores de serviço, assegurando o cumprimento dos requisitos de segurança da IBM.
Apoiar iniciativas de meio ambiente e preparação para emergências, garantindo prontidão para auditorias e inspeções.
Contribuir para projetos de melhoria contínua, identificando oportunidades de simplificação, automação e otimização de processos de segurança.
Fornecer orientação técnica e consultiva a colaboradores e gestores quanto a práticas seguras, requisitos legais e políticas de Global Safety.
Completed Technical Degree in Occupational Safety (Técnico em Segurança do Trabalho), with active registration in the Ministry of Labor (MTE) according to Brazilian law.
More than two years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) within industrial, corporate, or service environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Brazilian Regulatory Standards (Normas Regulamentadoras – NRs) issued by the Ministry of Labor, including their application in occupational risk management, health, safety, and environmental protection.
Ability to perform risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
Experience in preparing and maintaining technical reports, performance indicators, and safety documentation.
Intermediate knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems).
Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems).
Strong sense of responsibility, organization, and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Basic level of English and Spanish for reading and communication within the IBM Global Safety network.
Experience supporting Management Systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 9001), with focus on continuous improvement and compliance.
Knowledge of ergonomics, occupational health, and environmental management practices related to safety.
Experience in conducting or supporting internal and external audits related to safety, health, or quality management systems.
Familiarity with emergency response planning, drills, and business continuity initiatives.
Participation in Safety Committees (CIPA) or leadership in preventive safety campaigns.
Experience in preparing and delivering safety training sessions, workshops, or awareness programs.
Ability to manage relationships with service providers, contractors, and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to safety requirements.
Analytical mindset and ability to identify improvement opportunities in processes and risk management systems.
