In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

An Infrastructure Specialist for the Azure Platform is a highly skilled professional responsible for managing and implementing Azure-based infrastructure solutions according to established designs. This role ensures that infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure. The specialist has deep proficiency in Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Networks, and Azure SQL Database, along with expertise in Windows and VMware environments.

Responsibilities include setting up, configuring, and managing Azure Virtual Machines, storage solutions, networking, and databases to effectively support business applications. The specialist implements and oversees essential Azure resources such as Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and Application Gateways to ensure smooth operations. They continuously monitor Azure infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations to ensure reliable performance.

The specialist applies and enforces security measures to ensure Azure infrastructure complies with organizational policies and industry regulations. They optimize Azure costs by right-sizing resources, developing cost-effective solutions, and monitoring usage patterns. Collaboration with IT teams is key to implementing and integrating Azure infrastructure solutions based on existing designs.

Experience with DevOps practices, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), is required. The specialist should be skilled in using automation tools like Azure Automation, Terraform, and Ansible to automate and streamline processes. Experience with cloud migration projects, including implementation and execution, is also necessary. Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters through Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is crucial for effective container orchestration and scaling.

Ensure System performance, reliability, and system security.
Monitor and Maintain the AVD platform and its respective support and admin servers.
Conduct Capacity planning aligned with business demands and resources.
Adhere to security and compliance guidelines and requirements.
Perform System Patching, System Tuning and Performance Improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve Complex System Issues.
Provide L1.5 support to help resolve incidents, escalation, and service requests.
If issues can’t be resolved, escalate to appropriate Synapxe L2 Support Team.
Conduct RCA for Escalated Severity 1 and Severity 2 issues.
Provide Technical Guidance and support to team members.
Support Audit and Risk Assessment BAU Day 2 Projects.
