In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BPM Developer with a strong focus on IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of BPM solutions, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. This role requires a deep understanding of business processes, excellent technical skills in BAW, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Architecture:

    • Lead the design and architecture of complex BPM solutions using IBM BAW, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical best practices.

    • Translate business requirements and process flows into technical specifications and a structured BAW solution design.

    • Create detailed design documents, including process diagrams (BPDs), service specifications, and integration points.

  • Development & Implementation:

    • Develop and implement end-to-end business process applications using IBM BAW, including process models, user interfaces (Coach Views), business rules, and integration services.

    • Build and configure process applications, toolkits, and snapshots in the BAW environment.

    • Develop and manage complex integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g., RESTful APIs, web services, databases, messaging queues) using BAW's integration capabilities.

    • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.

  • Testing & Quality Assurance:

    • Design and execute unit, integration, and system tests for developed BPM solutions.

    • Collaborate with QA teams to support user acceptance testing (UAT) and troubleshoot defects.

    • Ensure the performance, scalability, and security of all developed applications.

  • Maintenance & Support:

    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing BAW applications, including troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing bug fixes.

    • Monitor the health and performance of the BAW environment and applications, making recommendations for optimization.

    • Manage application deployments and version control using BAW's administrative tools.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work closely with business analysts to refine process requirements and ensure the developed solution meets business needs.

    • Collaborate with enterprise architects, database administrators, and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.

    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers on the team.

    • Present solution designs and progress updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) with the IBM BPM product suite, with a strong focus on IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).

  • Deep understanding of BAW concepts, including:

    • Process Designer and Process Application development.

    • Building and using Process Models (BPDs) and Case Models.

    • Developing responsive user interfaces with Coach Views (Spark UI Toolkit is a plus).

    • Implementing server-side logic using JavaScript and other server-ide scripts.

    • Creating and managing Toolkits for reusable components.

  • Proficiency in building integrations:

    • Working with REST and SOAP web services.

    • Connecting to databases (SQL/JDBC) and external systems.

    • Experience with IBM's integration tools (e.g., Integration Designer, API Connect) is a plus.

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

  • Strong knowledge of web technologies:

    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

    • AJAX, JSON, and XML.

  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a distributed environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

    • IBM BAW certifications are a significant advantage.
