As a Senior Data Governance Consultant, you will lead initiatives to ensure that organizational data is accurate, consistent, secure, and compliant with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and data stewards to define, implement, and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices. This role is key to enabling data-driven decision-making and improving data quality across the enterprise.
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Data Governance Strategy & Framework
Define, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
Develop data governance roadmaps aligned with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
Data Quality & Compliance
Monitor and improve data quality, consistency, and completeness across systems.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with business units, IT, and data stewards to enforce governance policies and resolve data-related issues.
Act as a subject matter expert in data governance and promote a culture of data ownership and accountability.
Data Stewardship & Metadata Management
Support the establishment and management of data stewardship roles and responsibilities.
Oversee metadata management and ensure proper documentation of data assets.
Tools & Technology
Evaluate, implement, and optimize data governance tools and platforms.
Support integration with data catalog, data quality, and master data management solutions.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to enhance data governance maturity.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management.
DAMA-DMBOK Certification

Collibra/Informatica Axon or similar DG tools
SQL for quality analysis
