Introduction

The Linux Technology Centre in India Systems Development Lab is hiring for Linux Functional Verification team. As an experienced professional in this field, you bring strong understanding of computer architecture and operating system concepts across processor architectures. You will also design and develop new test cases and scenarios for new features across Linux stack. This opportunity gets you involved in all phases of software development life cycle as you will work with a vibrant, reputed and technically accomplished team that focus on open source development. You will learn about new IBM Power architecture, Linux kernel internals, automation frameworks, Server system simulators, usage of AI models in testing and many advanced technologies.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Linux on Power FVT engineer you will validate Linux OS features (ex: Kernel, IO drivers etc) across all supported RHEL/SLES releases on current and next generation enterprise class of IBM POWER servers. You will design and develop innovative test cases. You will also be responsible for automating the test cases and integrating them into the Test Automation framework.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Linux FVT engineer, you will be responsible for following:

· Validation of Linux kernel subsystems and IO drivers (viz. Network, FC, FCOE, NVMe, NVMoFC etc) on all supported RHEL/SLES releases

· Diagnosis and troubleshooting of issues.

· Interlock with IBM development teams and linux distro partners on defects, thus help resolution of defects and accelerate integration of fixes into official release of Enterprise Linux Distributions.

· Collaboration with the Open Source Community, Linux distro partners and IO vendors.

· Development of automation and maintenance of Test frameworks.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred education

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

· 5 to 8 years of relevant industry experience

· Hands-on development or testing of Linux OS (any flavours)

· Strong knowledge on Linux OS Internals and commands

· IO technologies (viz. Network, Block Storage etc)

· Good expertise with Python, shell scripting and C programming

· Containers, k8s

· Test Automation, Frameworks and DevOps methodologies

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills

· Experience with working on open source software using tools such as git and associated community participation processes.
