Introduction

We're looking for a seasoned SAP Basis Principal Consultant to lead our high-performance team and drive strategic SAP technology initiatives. This role demands a deep understanding of SAP architecture, extensive hands-on experience, and a proven track record of executing complex SAP projects.

Your role and responsibilities

1. SAP System Implementation and Upgrades: Lead the implementation and upgrade of SAP systems according to client specifications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

2. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert level technical support and troubleshoot complex issues within the SAP Basis environment.

3. System Monitoring and Performance Optimisation: Monitor SAP systems to ensure peak performance, implement performance tuning, and conduct regular system health checks.

4. Security Management: Implement and manage SAP security settings and user administration, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal regulations.

5. Backup and Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive data backup and recovery procedures, testing them regularly to ensure they meet the required service levels.

6. Project Leadership and Mentoring: Lead smaller SAP Basis projects, providing guidance and mentoring to junior team members.

7. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain up-to-date documentation of all SAP systems, processes, and configurations. Conduct effective knowledge transfer to end-users and other IT teams.

8. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, understanding their needs and translating these into technical requirements. Regularly update stakeholders on project status, risks, and issues.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  1. Applicants must at a minimum have baseline clearance and can achieve NV1 clearance.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  3. At least one year experience as a Consultant or similar role in SAP HANA Application Security.
  4. Knowledge of SAP HANA system architecture, database security, and user authorization concepts.
  5. Experience in implementing and managing security controls such as Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Segregation of Duties (SoD), and data encryption.
  6. Experience with SAP HANA security tools like SAP HANA Cockpit, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
  7. Understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical audiences.
  8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. Willingness to travel as needed.
