The Hardware Test Tools Development team is seeking experienced C developers with a strong hardware background to design, develop, and maintain tools used extensively across IBM for hardware system testing and characterization. In this role, you will collaborate with hardware test teams to implement and improve testing solutions, ensuring the effective and efficient testing of hardware systems.

Your role and responsibilities

IBM India Systems Development Lab is seeking Quality assurance engineer to work as a test engineer. In this role, you would be responsible for functional validation of PowerVC and Test automation for the product. You will design, build and troubleshoot complex storage test beds.As an Automation Testing Engineer, you will design, build, test and deploy effective testing solutions which reduce the amount of manual effort in the testing process. You are responsible for applying automated tools in testing of applications across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Support the test team by recommending tools and processes to automate other test activities, such as test management, reporting, test data generation and defect management. Evaluate the functional and non-functional requirements for test-ability, test cases and use cases for suitability for automation

Required technical and professional expertise

• 1.5 -2.5 years of industry experience in Openstack, Virtualization and Manual, Automation QA experience in a Cloud environment
• Proven knowledge of Automation development process & tools for product development/debugging using Python
• Proven knowledge on functional QA validation of Cloud product built on Openstack
• Hands-on experience in development of application changes, testing the changes and driving continuous delivery transformation within Scrum teams.
• Demonstrated experience in designing / building test automation frameworks for API and CLI based testing
• Ability to manage change and be open to it good time management and demonstrate sanctity of prescribed deadlines
• Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Knowledge and hand-on usage of code and defect management tools.
• Ability to meticulously plan and detail test executions and identifying dependencies.
• Profound knowledge of Software Development Process and Testing life cycle, Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Good written/verbal communication skills to report program status crisply and accurately.
• Experience working with Global teams.
• Good technical leadership skills to mentor new team members.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Hands-on experience on Manuel and automation testing.
• Openstack based clouds.
• Basic concepts of virtualization.
• Strong with Python programming.
