Our Marketing, Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) (MCC) team works on and tells this story, and is responsible for positioning IBM in the market. ESG, as a component within our CSR function, works with internal and external stakeholders on IBM’s ESG agenda, strategy and execution, voluntary and mandatory ESG disclosure, ESG engagement with clients, rankers/raters and investors, human rights due diligence, and community impact work related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The ESG Strategy & Programs Manager position is located in IBM's Corporate Social Responsibility/Environmental Social Governance organization. As an ESG Manager as part of the ESG Strategy & Programs team at IBM, your primary responsibilities will be to help drive strategy and alignment with stakeholders, as well as reporting through process excellence, ESG business accountability, and streamlined collaboration across functions. You will act as a trusted business advisor to the leadership team with particular focus on measurement and business relevance, operational tools, and strategic planning amidst compliance.
ESG Program Managers help ensure that our organizational model and management system supports business strategies, drives positive outcomes, and operates in an efficient and effective manner. The ESG team works closely across the organization with functions such as the ESG Controllership, Sustainability Office, Procurement, Investor Relations, Consulting, Sales, Legal, Human Resources, Research, Government and Regulatory Affairs, and others, on an ongoing basis.
As an ESG Program Manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinate ESG client requests intake and formal responses with appropriate cross-functional input and adequate governance
· Drive collaboration across ESG areas internally as well as with key external stakeholders
· Manage deliverables into regular data collection dashboards and analytics, and annual ESG Reporting
· Contribute to materiality assessments
· Create guidelines, checklists, policies, procedures, and other related program content, to align with best practice and frameworks
· Incorporate appropriate technology into process and programmatic work
· Contribute to the ESG strategy and programs
· Flex assignments on other ESG related work driving business value
· Undergraduate Degree or equivalent
· Experience and/or passion for ESG/CSR/Sustainability
· Fluency in English
· Strong attention to detail
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other industry standard business tools
· Hybrid working environment with general weekly expectation approximately 3 days in office / 2 days remote (New York, or limited other U.S. locations as base may be considered, such as Research Triangle Park, NC)
· Ability to travel occasionally as may be required by job duties
· Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in a related field
· 3-5 years related experience
· Ability to effectively drive change through projects and programs
· Experience with business process improvement initiatives
· Ability to develop and analyze data and use storytelling techniques to deliver concise and compelling analysis and recommendations
· Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and communicate with influence
· Outstanding communication/interpersonal skills to articulate ideas, frame problems, offer solutions, and work efficiently with cross-functional teams
· Ability to dive into details and understand root causes by asking probing questions that identify deeper opportunities for change

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
