Introduction

India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems world-wide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in India's Silicon Valley and startup hub - Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system to software defined storage. The lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. The lab has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far.

While computing veers towards cognitive, cloud, mobile, social, and security, the lab has significantly contributed to not just new products focused in these areas, but has also ushered in new development models such as Agile, Design Thinking and DevOps.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Software Frond End Expert, you will be responsible owning designing and developing components and features independently in IBM India Systems Development Lab. ISDL works on end to end design and development across Power, z and Storage portfolio. You would be a part of WW Storage development organization and would be involved in designing, developing and discussing product delivery & strategy. You should also have strong leadership quality to manage and work as technical lead and be able to deliver end to end features.

• Design, Develop and maintain IBM Spectrum Protect features and components.
• Design and be an avid coder who can get his hands dirty and be involved in the coding to the deepest level.
• Collaboration with Product management and peer architect on roadmap planning and POCs.
• Setting technical direction for development team.
• Work in an Agile environment of continuous deliverable.
• You’ll have access to all the technical training courses you need to become the expert you want to be.
• You’ll learn directly from Sr members/leaders in this field.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 8+ Years of relevant Industry Experience
• Minimum 6 years of UI experience.
• Having built complex (not Proof of Concepts) solutions on both React and Angular-2 applications. Not familiarity but expertise is what is being looked for in both.
• Build applications using HTML, using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular-2.

· Good knowledge of Javascript/NodeJs/Typescript, jQuery, HTML5/DHTML DOM, XHTML, JSON, REST API design knowledge and concepts.

· Working knowledge in open-source CSS frameworks such as Carbon and Bootstrap for development of responsive web designs.

· Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Containers

· Familiarity with package managers like npn/yarn

· Familiarity with frontend build tools like webpack, babel, etc

· Experience working with state management libraries like redux, etc.

· Analytical and communication skills. Experience working closely with Java backend developers to deliver designs

· Knowledgeable in UX design concepts

· Comfortable working in a Linux and VMware development environment including git source code repositories.

Preferred technical and professional experience

· Domain knowledge in Data protection and Storage space

· Familiarity with database and applications.

· Familiarity with JAVA and Shell Scripting

· Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift
