Your role and responsibilities

IBM Technology Expert Labs is hiring an AI/ML Engineer who is passionate about helping customers use the latest Data and AI computing technologies to solve their real-world problems. You will work closely with clients and IBM consultants, technology experts, and product development teams to collect, organize and analyze data to use Data Science and AI to address mission needs.

As a Data & AI Consultant in the IBM Technology Expert Labs Delivery organization, you will work in an agile, collaborative environment, partnering with customer stakeholders, to develop mission-based solutions with Banks & Government customers to:

Assess customer mission requirements and architect appropriate data science solutions to meet mission needs
Develop data science and AI solutions using Cloud Pak for Data technologies such as watsonx.ai, watsonx.assistant, watsonx.governance, watsonx.data.
Deploy innovative Cloud Pak for Data and watsonx solutions across a variety of cloud platforms
Exploit the data fabric architecture of Cloud Pak for Data and watsonx.data to accelerate data science and AI

You have strong technical and analytical abilities, a knack for driving impact and growth, and experience with cloud native computing technologies
You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, and designing & implementing solutions
You have excellent communication skills and are adept at describing complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
You are technically forward-thinking, passionate about embracing new technology and developing your technical skills, such as in Cloud Pak for Data and watsonx

Required technical and professional expertise

· Designing and delivering AI solutions: With a focus on foundation models, large language models, exposure to open source, or similar technologies. Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics is highly desirable. Understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.

· Strong programming skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with AI frameworks preferably LangChain, flask, fast api, or alternatively TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or Hugging Face. Understanding in the usage of libraries such as SciKit Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services is a plus.

· Solutioning Experience: Solution architecture and design, translating business requirements into technical specifications, developing scalable and robust AI solutions.

· Business Acumen: Experience collaborating closely with customers, understanding their needs, business objectives, and translating their requirements into effective AI solutions.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: Engage with stakeholders for analysis and implementation. Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with advancements in the field of AI.

· Growth mindset: Demonstrate a growth mindset to understand clients' business processes and challenges.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Experience in open source Machine and Deep Learning frameworks, model validation and deployment tools
Understanding of concepts of data governance, data stewardship and trustworthy AI
Familiarity in AWS, Azure, GCP infrastructure and consumption models.
GraphML knowledge and associated methods, algorithms.
Understanding of generative AI concepts, large language models, data labelling and structuring
Experienced in data migration, debugging and data system performance optimization
Familiarity with IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog, Watson Studio and Watson Assistant, Watson Natural Language Processing
