Introduction
We are looking for a self-driven and highly motivated Category Manager (sourcing professional) for Facility Services with proven experience to join our IBM Procurement Services team to support one of IBM’s key clients in Germany.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Facility Services category with a proven track record in procurement, stakeholder management and excellent negotiation skills.
Your role and responsibilities
- You will run larger scale procurement projects requiring independence of thought, strong stakeholder management skills and advanced negotiation and support periodic key stakeholder meetings with client to lead and review category strategy and activities.
- You will own primary responsibility to achieve client success against all contractual commitments at a category level
- You will be responsible for on-going category management activities including driving supplier performance, demand management savings, and increasing category compliance
- You will communicate and negotiate with clients and suppliers through all levels of organization, primary interface to key category client stakeholder
- You will build and maintain open and transparent relationships with business colleagues that contribute to mitigating change resistance
- You will gather and analyze data to provide insights that support decision(s)
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
• Strong decision-making skills and demonstrated negotiation expertise
• Supplier relationship management expertise and client facing skills
• Proactive character and team player attitude
• High levels of personal drive, initiative, and commitment to business goals
• Fluent in German and in English and strong communication skills
• Minimum 3 years of Category Management experience (or 5 years of Strategic Sourcing experience) in Facility Services Category
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Experience with dashboards and reporting tools in general
• Experience with e-sourcing tools
