Your role and responsibilities

As an Site reliability Engineer for the CIO Hybrid Cloud Z Platform & Strategy Team you will be responsible to support MIddleware (CICS, IMS, DB2) in z/OS mainframe environment.
The candidate must have experience with current versions of the product in the market an d understand the tools and applications for infrastructure support.
In addition to daily steady state support, the professional should have focus in innovation, like automation of repetitive tasks.
The work will be performed in the Agile model, in a cooperative environment, interfacing with global teams.
You will maintain, support and help to enhance the multi-technology monitoring and automated remediation systems which support all IBM’s internal applications and systems.
You'll have the opportunity to identify points of improvement in technical processes and propose new ways to do it through automation, help our customer to resolve their pain points and, through co-creation, define solutions that allow improving the efficiency of their operations.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Provide technical support using problem determination skills and identification of the source of the problem;
• Use technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other operations/support organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems through to resolution;
• Recommend and implement optimization and automation for technical support tools, procedures and processes and implement new tools;
• Providing training and mentoring to other team members.

Required technical and professional expertise

• The professional should demonstrate deep knowledge of IMS in z/OS mainframe environment, be able to solve complex problems and have living experience in installation, configuration, high availability, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and security & compliance activities.• Good communication, teamwork, interest in learning new technologies.• Experience in working with global teams, with people from several locations.• Autonomy to work without supervision, targeting to achieve agreed-upon goals and with innovative mindset.• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.• Availability to 24x7 support, according to business needs.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Strong Db2 system support background on installing Db2 product, apply ptf, upgrade for version 12 function levels;
• Be used to work on business as usual requests and incident and change management;
• Be used to run and resolve health check reports to maintain security integrity;
• Experience in another technology (DB2, IMS, WAS or MQ) is a plus;
