Introduction

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate hardware, software, and network solutions to ensure the solution meets requirements and is technically viable in the client's platform (Cloud and/or on-premise).

Your role and responsibilities

An IBM Cloud DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions for businesses. They possess expert-level knowledge of various cloud platforms, including IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Key responsibilities include migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud, optimizing application performance, ensuring data privacy and security, automating infrastructure deployment, and guiding stakeholders in adopting cloud practices. Additionally, IBM Cloud Engineers collaborate closely with architects, developers, and DevOps professionals to ensure seamless integration between cloud environments and on-premise systems.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is typically required, along with certifications from major cloud providers.

DevSecOps integrates application and infrastructure security seamlessly into Agile and DevOps processes and tools. It addresses security issues as they emerge, when they're easier, faster, and less expensive to fix, and before deployment into production.

Required Skills:

  • Cloud Support Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing technical support for IBM Cloud solutions, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and customer communication.
  • Technical Specialist Skills: Proficiency in IT infrastructure solution construction, implementation, systems integration, and management, with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Professional Certifications: Hold relevant professional certifications such as IBM Cloud Professional Developer, IBM Certified Advocate, IBM Certified Technical Advocate, IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner Professional Certificate, or equivalent certifications from other cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to advise, use, and implement cloud solutions to address customer problems, including containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, cloud delivery models, and application modernization.
  • DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
  • Liaison: Proven ability to act as a liaison between clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
