Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Cloud offers a unified platform that gives you cloud computing any way you want it, deployed on demand, with a single pane of glass for systems management (one portal; one Application Programming Interface (API)).
IBM is currently recruiting for Data Center Specialists to join the Cloud team.
Essential Duties:
• Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) servers.
• Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment.
• Troubleshoot, test, quality assurance of server hardware.
• Professionally resolve hardware issues via trouble ticket.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Operating System Installation Windows Server, Linux, Unix
• Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment a plus
• Web Server and Database installation experience a plus
• Must be able to work in this country without company sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English
• Must be willing to learn quickly, multi-task, and work in a fast pace environment
• Moderate knowledge of PC hardware concepts and component installation.
• Basic knowledge of various internet-related services and software (mail, web, DNS, etc).
• General understanding of computer networking concepts.
• Customer focused attitude with some previous customer service experience.
• Network wiring/cabling experience.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience with Windows and Linux Platforms.
• Experience with computer/server hardware.
• Certifications are not required but a plus.
