Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Consulting – Federal is seeking a highly skilled multi-disciplined individual with project management skills to join us as a Palo Alto NGFW Engineer in this customer-facing role. As a member of our dedicated security team, you will support a dedicated 24x7x365 Federal program operation. You will be working in a fast-paced environment on a diverse set of technologies like Azure, Palo Alto, CheckPoint and Arista to name a few.

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in hybrid platforms (cloud and on-prem), networking, virtualization, and security. You’ll possess a strong knowledge base of NIST standards and have certification experience in several areas such as CompTIA Security+, NGFW, CYSA, GICSP, CSEC, CND or SSCP.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years Microsoft Windows server, AD and systems experience and DoD 8570 Certification
• 3+ years Azure IaaS, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Networking
• 3+ years leading infrastructure projects
• 3+ years cybersecurity related work
• 5+ years of level 3 support
• 3+ years Solid understanding of Azure Cloud • Scripting: Good PowerShell scripting skills
• Good knowledge of security concepts, IAM, VPN, and NextGen firewalls
DoD Approved 8570 certification REQUIRED such as: CompTIA Security+CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+**, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge of Federal Security Standards such as NIST and DoD
  • Understanding and experience with FedRAMP Cloud Security Requirements
