Your Role and Responsibilities
Bring your contract management and subject matter expertise in AI or Semiconductors to a multi-faceted role with IBM where you will be responsible for front line administration of the full life cycle of contracts from proposal development to contract negotiations to closeout. You will lead an assigned functional/business unit by managing contractual performance with customers, partners, and suppliers both domestically and internationally in a dynamic, team-oriented work environment. In the event of contractual issues or non-performance, you’ll provide expertise to the business on the investigation, solutioning, and re-negotiation of the contract. The scope of the role varies by contract as agreed with the applicable business unit.

In this role you will:

• Use your knowledge of a business unit, country, or international professional mastery related to operations, strategies, and objectives in leading edge or critical situations.
• Plan and conduct complex negotiations reaching lasting agreements and commitments.
• Anticipate, create and define innovative and visionary concepts in a strategic environment.
• Develop and help implement product, market, business, or technology strategies with executive review.
• Using your vision of overall strategies, contribute to policymaking.
• As a recognized expert and leader by members of a field, related functions, and multi-country organizations, you will lead a business unit, country, or international teams while conducting special projects, or managing functions or strategic departments.
• With accountability for a business unit, major country, or international projects or programs, you’ll be responsible for committing multiple resources and achieving customer satisfaction, cost, expense, revenue, and other business measurements of critical importance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Ability to develop original contract templates
• Excellent analytical verbal and written communication skills
• Superior attention to detail
• Ability to interpret terms and commitments made in contracts
• Ability to negotiate contract amendments
• Ability to provide guidance on contractual and commercial matters plus IBM policies and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Law Degree preferred (not required if 7+ years in contracts administration or management experience)
• Experience working in government-sponsored or industry research contracts preferred
• Experience or education in the field of AI or Semiconductors or evidence of continuing professional education in such fields.
