Application Consultant, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 100% telecommuting permitted): Work as SME in developing cloud native applications using tools. Provide recommendations for the best options on product development using knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and latest development techniques. Engage the client (at the technical level) and internal team to create cloud native application design that can include aspects such as containerization, API First, and microservices architecture. Collaborate with program or product managers to provide significant contribution on technical elements of sprint/iteration planning, estimation, risk, dependencies, and user stories definition. Work on development of cloud agnostic applications that can be deployed in a hybrid multi-cloud environment. Mentor and guide development team members on cloud native development best practices. Utilize: Java, Spring, AWS, Kafka, MySQL, REST API. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Technical Lead, Software Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Java, Spring, AWS, Kafka, MySQL, REST API. $169,229.00 to $230,200.00 per year. Full time. WJ108a.
