As a MuleSoft Developer at Octo, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing MuleSoft-based integration solutions for our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, business analysts, and project managers, to understand business requirements, define integration patterns, and deliver high-quality solutions. Your expertise in MuleSoft and integration best practices will be crucial in driving the successful implementation of complex integration projects.

Program Mission…

The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) supports Veterans Affairs (VA) with onboarding and maintaining enterprise SaaS and PaaS solutions used to support the mission of serving our Veterans and their associated stakeholders. We are digitizing information and processes for improved implementation, leveraging modern tools and low code/no code for reusability and faster delivery.

Responsibilities…

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze integration requirements, translating them into technical specifications and design documents.
  • Design and develop MuleSoft-based integration solutions using Anypoint Platform, including API-led connectivity, data transformation, and orchestration.
  • Implement integration patterns and best practices to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of integration solutions.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage MuleSoft runtime environments and associated infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and development processes.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest MuleSoft features, capabilities, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster professional growth within the team.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related field and MuleSoft Developer certification is a must. MuleSoft Integration Architect and Platform Architect is a nice to have.

Location: Remote within the United States.

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

  • 4+ years as a MuleSoft Developer, with a focus on designing and implementing complex integration solutions with strong proficiency in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule runtime, Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, Munit, and API Manager.
  • 5+ years as an Integration Developer with expertise in integration patterns, protocols, and technologies such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and HTTP.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience integrating with Salesforce and can lead design and troubleshooting integrations.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. MuleSoft Developer certification is a must. MuleSoft Integration Architect and Platform Architect is a nice to have.
  • 4+ years as a MuleSoft Developer, with a focus on designing and implementing complex integration solutions with strong proficiency in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule runtime, Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, Munit, and API Manager.
  • 3+ years as an Integration Developer with expertise in integration patterns, protocols, and technologies such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and HTTP.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience integrating with Salesforce and can lead design and troubleshooting integrations.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise integration concepts, including service-oriented architecture (SOA), message-based integration, and event-driven architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with other data integration platforms and technologies such as Informatica, webMethods, Databricks is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand and address complex integration challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.
  • A self-driven and proactive attitude, with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Must be able to use a computer.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
