In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

  1. Technical Architecture & Solution Design
    • Own the overall technical architecture and deliverables for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM technical team.
    • Work closely with business and functional teams to understand requirements and translate functional expectations into scalable technical solutions.
    • Conceptualize, design, and validate end-to-end technical solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture standards.
    • Produce technical solution documentation, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, integration designs, and implementation guidelines.
    • Identify technical dependencies, risks, constraints, and appropriate design patterns.
    • Independently estimate technical effort and lead/validate estimates provided by the development team.
  2. Dynamics 365 & Dataverse
    • Design, customize, configure, and develop solutions using Dynamics 365 CRM Online and Microsoft Dataverse.
    • Strong experience across Dynamics 365 capabilities such as Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and related CRM components.
    • Design and implement plugins, custom APIs, workflows, business rules, business process flows, customizations, and other Dataverse extensions.
    • Work with the Dataverse SDK, Web API, QueryExpression, FetchXML, and other platform APIs.
    • Define appropriate Dataverse data models, relationships, business logic, and solution architecture.
  3. Power Platform Architecture
    • Design solutions using Power Apps, Model-driven Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, and PCF.
    • Determine when to use out-of-the-box Power Platform capabilities versus custom development.
    • Ensure Power Platform solutions follow appropriate security, performance, ALM, and maintainability practices.
  4. Integration & Azure Architecture
    • Design and implement integrations between Dynamics 365/Dataverse and external systems using REST APIs, Web Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, queues, topics, and other integration patterns.
    • Experience designing real-time and near-real-time integrations, including multiple integrations implemented with Dynamics 365.
    • Design scalable, resilient, asynchronous, and event-driven integration solutions.
    • Implement and govern Azure-aware Dynamics 365 plugins and integration components.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Functions, WebJobs, Azure Service Bus, Queues/Topics, Storage/Blob Storage, Key Vault, and related Azure services.
    • Apply appropriate patterns for retries, fault handling, dead-letter processing, idempotency, batching, and error handling.
  5. Security, Performance & Scalability
    • Design Dynamics 365/Dataverse security using security roles, business units, teams, field-level security, record-level access, and appropriate access-control mechanisms.
    • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, authentication, authorization, and data-protection requirements.
    • Design solutions for scalability, performance, availability, and reliability.
    • Account for Dataverse API limits, service protection limits, throttling, asynchronous processing, batching, concurrency, and retry mechanisms.
    • Identify and address performance bottlenecks across Dynamics 365, Dataverse, integrations, and Azure components.
  6. Hands-on Development & Technical Leadership
    • Provide hands-on technical leadership using C#, .NET Framework/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST, JSON/XML, and related technologies.
    • Develop and troubleshoot Dynamics 365 plugins, custom APIs, integrations, Azure Functions, and other custom components when required.
    • Lead the technical team, assign tasks, manage the technical work plan, remove technical impediments, and support developers in resolving complex issues.
    • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, technical validations, and implementation reviews.
    • Establish and enforce development standards, coding guidelines, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  7. Data, Migration & Analytics
    • Design and support data migration and integration solutions involving Dynamics 365/Dataverse and external data sources.
    • Work with SQL, SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, and related data technologies.
    • Design data processing and transformation solutions that support large-volume and scalable workloads.
    • Work with Power BI and other analytics capabilities for reporting and business insights.
  8. ALM, DevOps, Testing & Quality
    • Establish and govern Dynamics 365/Power Platform Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices.
    • Work with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, managed/unmanaged solutions, environment variables, and connection references.
    • Define appropriate branching, build, release, deployment, and environment-management strategies.
    • Ensure solutions follow best practices for maintainability, security, performance, deployment, monitoring, and error handling.
    • Promote automated unit, integration, and system testing, including appropriate mocking and Dynamics 365/Dataverse testing frameworks.
    • Ensure technical solutions do not introduce code-quality, security, or maintainability issues.
  9. Monitoring, Production Support & Risk Management
    • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues across Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure, and integrations.
    • Design appropriate monitoring, logging, alerting, diagnostics, and observability using tools such as Application Insights.
    • Analyse production incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
    • Proactively identify technical risks, integration failures, performance issues, security concerns, and operational gaps.
    • Support incident management, problem management, and continuous reliability improvements.
  10. Delivery, Estimation & Stakeholder Management
    • Be accountable for the technical delivery of assigned Dynamics 365 initiatives.
    • Work with business, functional, architecture, QA, DevOps, and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
    • Independently estimate technical work and review/validate estimates from the technical team.
    • Track technical dependencies, risks, issues, and delivery milestones.
    • Communicate technical decisions, constraints, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  11. Agile, Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Participate in and provide technical leadership across Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
    • Establish technical governance and ensure adherence to enterprise architecture and Dynamics 365 best practices.
    • Continuously evaluate new Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure, and related technologies.
    • Identify opportunities to improve solution architecture, development practices, automation, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
    • Mentor and coach developers and promote knowledge sharing across the technical team.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 CRM Online and Dataverse.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering complex Dynamics 365 solutions and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of solution architecture, integration architecture, Azure services, security, scalability, performance, and ALM.
  • Experience leading technical teams and providing technical direction, mentoring, code reviews, and design governance.

• Power BI Expertise: Experience with Power BI, including data visualization and business intelligence capabilities, to deliver insights and analytics solutions.

• Azure Proficiency: Experience with Azure, including cloud-based infrastructure, security, and scalability, to support Microsoft Business Applications.

• Machine Learning Knowledge: Experience with Machine Learning, including predictive analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities, to enhance Microsoft Business Applications solutions.
