The SAP Plant Maintenance Support Consultant is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of end-to-end Asset Management and Plant Maintenance business processes. This role provides functional support across the full maintenance lifecycle, including work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closure. The consultant analyzes and resolves production incidents, performs root cause analysis, and delivers both immediate corrective actions and long-term solutions while meeting agreed service levels.
The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional support groups to troubleshoot system defects, integration issues, and process-related challenges. The consultant supports SAP releases, testing activities, interface monitoring, and process optimization initiatives, ensuring seamless operations across SAP Plant Maintenance and its integrations with enterprise IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems. Additionally, the position plays a key role in user enablement, continuous improvement, functional specification development, and maintaining high-quality system performance in a complex operational environment.
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As a managing consultant, you will serve as a client-facing practitioner working collaboratively with clients to deliver high-quality solutions and be a trusted business advisor with deep understanding of SAP Accelerate delivery methodology or equivalent and associated work products. You will lead design workshops, support business development activities and mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and knowledge. Your primary responsibilities include:
Provide end-to-end support for SAP Plant Maintenance processes, including inbound and outbound integrations with various IT and OT systems.
Strong expertise supporting and configuring SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) end-to-end business processes, including work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Experience providing production support in asset-intensive industries such as Mining, Oil & Gas, Energy, or Heavy Manufacturing, ensuring stable and efficient maintenance operations.
Proven experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting integrations between SAP PM/EAM and IT/OT systems, ensuring interface stability and timely resolution of integration failures.
Strong ability to perform incident management, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and SLA-driven support, partnering with technical teams on ABAP, middleware, and interface-related issues.
Experience supporting releases, enhancements, testing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, while driving user enablement and process optimization.
Maximo EAM Configuration: Experience with configuring Maximo-based Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions, including designing and building workflows, data structures, and user interfaces.
EAM Solution Integration: Experience integrating Maximo-based EAM solutions with other systems and applications, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
Asset Management Best Practices: Experience applying asset management best practices and industry standards to Maximo-based EAM solutions, optimizing asset performance and maintenance.
