Your role and responsibilities

The Cloud Ops Transformation Lead plays a vital leadership role in shifting Cloud Operations from a reactive, incident-focused approach to a proactive, automated, and AI-powered (AIOps) operating model. Collaborating closely with the Program Manager or Program Director, this role oversees the design and implementation of transformation projects across various workstreams, focusing on operationalizing observability, automation, and AIOps to achieve tangible improvements in service stability, scalability, and cost efficiency. This role is perfect for a seasoned transformation leader or senior delivery expert who blends robust program execution skills with deep operational understanding and a passion for driving systemic change in complex cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Transformation Strategy & Operating Model Evolution

• Define and execute the Operations transformation roadmap across the client’s multiple environments, ensuring alignment with business and client objectives.

• Ensure the implementation of the transformation roadmap aligns with the client’s enterprise architecture and strategic direction.

• Drive the transition from reactive operations to proactive and predictive (AIOps-enabled) operations.

• Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases such as predictive alerting, event correlation, and automated remediation.

• Establish and track maturity progression across observability, automation, and operational excellence.

AIOps & Observability Enablement

• Operationalize observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog) into real-time decision-making and predictive insights.

• Drive implementation of AIOps capabilities including alert noise reduction, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis acceleration.

• Ensure observability is embedded into incident management, change processes, and capacity planning workflows.

• Eliminate passive monitoring practices and ensure actionable insights are used to reduce incidents and improve detection times.

Automation & Operational Efficiency

• Drive an automation-first operating model by identifying and eliminating manual operational activities.

• Transform manual runbooks into automated workflows and self-healing mechanisms.

• Partner with engineering teams to embed automation into operational and delivery pipelines.

• Track and report automation coverage and efficiency gains across operations.

Day-to-Day Delivery Management

• Oversee execution of transformation initiatives across operations, automation, and observability workstreams.

• Facilitate planning sessions, progress reviews, and cross-team collaboration forums.

• Identify systemic operational issues early and drive resolution at root cause level.

• Ensure consistent adoption of new processes, tools, and operating model changes across teams.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as a key point of contact for client stakeholders on Cloud Ops transformation initiatives.

• Prepare materials for steering committees, executive updates, and transformation reviews.

• Translate technical improvements into business outcomes such as cost savings, stability, and scalability.

• Manage stakeholder expectations on transformation timelines, investments, and value realization.

Programme Operations & Governance

• Support the Programme Manager in establishing governance structures focused on transformation outcomes and value realization.

• Maintain integrated transformation plans, dependency maps, and progress dashboards across workstreams.

• Ensure reporting reflects outcome-based KPIs (e.g., incident reduction, MTTR improvement), not just activity tracking.

• Coordinate with workstream leads to ensure alignment on transformation milestones, risks, and deliverables.

Financial & Resource Management

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking for transformation initiatives.

• Align cost optimization efforts with improvements in automation, efficiency, and operational maturity.

• Assist in resource planning, onboarding, and capability development aligned to transformation goals.

• Support business case development for investments in tools, SMEs, and automation initiatives.

Quality, Risk & Issue Management

• Drive adherence to delivery frameworks, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Track risks, issues, and dependencies related to transformation initiatives and ensure mitigation plans are executed.

• Establish continuous improvement loops using operational data and insights.

• Focus quality measures on stability, predictability, and operational performance improvements.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Provide day-to-day guidance to project managers, engineers, and workstream leads across transformation initiatives.

• Build capability in observability, automation, and AIOps practices within the team.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

• Mentor and support development of team members transitioning to advanced operational roles.

Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise

• At least 10+ years of experience delivering IT, Cloud Operations, or transformation programs within a consulting or enterprise environment.

• Proven experience driving operations transformation, automation, or large-scale improvement initiatives.

• Strong understanding of Cloud Operations, incident management, and ITSM processes.

• Hands-on or functional experience with observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk).

• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, scripting).

• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

• Competence with program management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, ADO, Smartsheet, Confluence).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container platforms, and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

• Due to security reasons, only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

Preferred technical and professional experience

A successful Cloud Ops Transformation Lead actively drives change, blending rigorous programme execution with deep operational knowledge. They go beyond mere coordination to pinpoint systemic problems, address root causes, and achieve measurable enhancements in operational performance.

They have a proven track record of reducing incidents, improving MTTR, and scaling automation. They translate observability and AIOps capabilities into real business benefits, ensuring tools are actively operational rather than merely passively used.
