We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can lead complex technology initiatives, drive business outcomes, and enable teams to deliver innovative solutions at scale. This role combines project leadership, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, release management, and strategic delivery across infrastructure, cloud, automation, AI, and technology transformation programmes.

You will work with global teams, senior leadership, clients, product teams, and technical specialists to deliver high-impact projects that support IBM's vision for the future of technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of strategic initiatives from inception through to completion. You will provide leadership, governance, and direction across cross-functional teams while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with business objectives.

Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex infrastructure, cloud, automation, AI, and technology transformation projects.
  • Define project scope, objectives, success criteria, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Drive project execution through effective planning, tracking, governance, change control and risk management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, business priorities and client expectations.
  • Manage project deliverables and ensure alignment with agreed project outcomes and organisational goals.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders, technical leaders, clients, vendors and business partners.
  • Facilitate decision-making through clear communication of project progress, risks, dependencies and recommendations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations while balancing delivery commitments, resource constraints and business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
Programme Governance & Risk Management
  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, reporting structures and delivery standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Develop contingency plans and drive proactive resolution of delivery challenges.
  • Ensure project compliance with IBM governance, security, privacy, and operational requirements.
Resource & Financial Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, resource allocation and utilisation.
  • Monitor project financial performance and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimisation.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of resources to achieve project objectives.
Communication & Change Leadership
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Provide regular project status updates, executive reporting and support requests to stakeholders.
  • Drive organisational change initiatives through effective planning, communication and adoption strategies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Release & Delivery Management
  • Coordinate release schedules and delivery milestones across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Manage project dependencies and align delivery activities with product, infrastructure and operational requirements.
  • Support the delivery lifecycle from planning through implementation and post-release review.
  • Work closely with product management, engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure successful releases.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Champion Agile, Lean and continuous improvement practices.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and emerging technologies to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of project management standards, best practices and delivery methodologies.
  • Support innovation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and client value.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • 5+ years of Project Management, Programme Management, Release Management, or Technology Delivery experience.
  • Proven experience managing project scope, budget, timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, reporting, change management and delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, Waterfaall or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience using project and delivery management tools such as Jira, GitHub, EWM, Aha!, Monday.com or similar platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Advanced Risk Management: Proven ability to identify, assess, mitigate, and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and issues while ensuring the successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong experience engaging with executive leadership, clients, technical teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive collaboration, alignment and successful project execution.
  • AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives: Experience supporting or delivering AI, automation, cloud, digital transformation or technology modernisation programmes.
  • Resource and Financial Management: Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, resource allocation and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Governance and Compliance: Knowledge of project governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, security controls, privacy considerations and organisational compliance standards.
  • Dependency Management: Experience in identifying and managing project, product, infrastructure, and organisational dependencies to minimise delivery risks and delays.
  • Project Management Certification: PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe or equivalent project management certification.
  • Technology Delivery Experience: Experience working with enterprise technology solutions, infrastructure services, cloud platforms, software development, or managed services environments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, operational efficiency, and delivery excellence.
  • New Product Introduction: Experience supporting product launches, service introductions, technology rollouts, or business transformation initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Export Control and Commercial Awareness: Understanding of contractual obligations, export controls, offering deliverables, and commercial considerations within a global technology environment.
  • Knowledge of AI, Hybrid Cloud, Containers, Linux, Enterprise Infrastructure, or emerging technologies.
