Your role and responsibilities

As a Brand Technical Specialist, you will deliver hands-on technical support for infrastructure deployment and optimization. This role involves delivering technical support, which may require collaboration and solution delivery.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Technical Support Delivery: Deliver hands-on technical support for infrastructure deployment and optimization, ensuring effective solutions are provided.

• Infrastructure Optimization: Perform optimization activities to ensure infrastructure is running efficiently and effectively, supporting the overall technical strategy.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or pre-sales within enterprise infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on storage and data platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting sales cycles by shaping technical solutions, building adoption strategies, and helping close complex B2B opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, with deep knowledge of storage technologies (block, file, object, backup, and cyber resiliency), and working knowledge of compute, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
  • Ability to position IBM Storage solutions (e.g., FlashSystem, Spectrum Storage, cyber resilience capabilities) in the context of business outcomes such as performance, resilience, data protection, and cost optimization.
  • Experience engaging with both technical and business stakeholders, translating architectural designs into business value.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in matrixed environments across sales, technical specialists, marketing, and partners to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong technical qualification, opportunity progression, and execution discipline in support of sales pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling technical demonstrations and workshops.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with IBM Storage portfolio, along with exposure to IBM Power and IBM Cloud offerings.
  • Background in data management, cyber resilience, disaster recovery, hybrid cloud storage, or modernization initiatives.
  • Understanding of how storage integrates with mission-critical workloads (e.g., databases, SAP, AI/analytics platforms).
  • Experience supporting enterprise buying cycles, including technical validation, architecture reviews, and alignment with procurement and executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ecosystem solutions, including ISVs, hyperscalers, and channel partners, especially in storage or data-centric use cases.
  • Ability to articulate technical value in financial and business terms (e.g., TCO, ROI, risk mitigation).
  • Experience leveraging demand generation and partner-led motions to expand technical reach and influence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.
