Your role and responsibilities

As an External Relations Professional: Analyst Relations, you will convert the value of industry analysts globally into growth for IBM by building life-long relationships to deliver insight for IBMers, exposure for IBM in the market, and influence of buyers' choice of technology or services decisions to select IBM. You will work with executives, communications, marketing, and sales go-to-market teams to inform IBM's strategy, roadmap, go-to-market, and narratives to optimize product/market fit. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop Analyst Strategy: Develop the analyst strategy and plan to help IBM execute against our business strategy to make, shape, and reach markets. This involves identifying the right analyst(s), the best mix of interactions, experts, and their content to make a positive contribution to business outcomes. • Orchestrate Analyst Engagement: Orchestrate IBM's engagement and participation in the Analyst's research agendas and published reports that matter most to the business. This includes balancing inbound analyst opinion and insight with outbound analyst influence and exposure to hone product/market fit for revenue success. • Build Relationships: Own the relationship with each Analyst and their firms and be accountable for the health and value return of those relationships over their lifetime. • Analyze Opinion and Impact: Use a variety of analytics to understand analysts' opinion and impact of our influence, and measure success through informed decision-making, contribution to coverage, favorability, and marketing metrics. • Inform Business Decisions: Work with executives to inform IBM's strategy, roadmap, go-to-market, and narratives to optimize product/market fit, and inform and sway analysts' opinion to influence buyers seeking their advice towards selection of IBM.

  • Exposure to Industry Analysts: Experience working with industry analysts, understanding their research agendas, and leveraging their opinions to inform business decisions.
  • Analyst Relationship Management: Experience managing relationships with analysts and their firms, including developing and executing strategies to build and maintain those relationships.
  • Market Analysis: Exposure to analyzing market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform product/market fit and business strategy.
  • Communications and Influence: Experience working with communications, marketing, and sales teams to exercise analysts' voice and opinion, generating brand exposure and demand generation.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience using analytics to measure success, track progress, and inform business decisions, including analyzing opinion and impact of influence efforts.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Industry Research Knowledge: Exposure to researching and analyzing industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform product/market fit and business strategy. Understanding of how to leverage this knowledge to develop effective analyst strategies and plans.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Experience working with data analytics tools to measure success, track progress, and inform business decisions. Ability to analyze opinion and impact of influence efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Marketing and Communications: Exposure to working with communications, marketing, and sales teams to exercise analysts' voice and opinion, generating brand exposure and demand generation. Understanding of how to effectively collaborate with these teams to achieve business objectives.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
