- name, title, phone number and email address of three (3) references we can contact.The detailed cover letter provides an opportunity for the candidate to describe how they meet the skills and attributes identified as well as explain why they want to work in the public sector and particularly at the Department of Justice.For References to make a meaningful contribution, they should have had an adequate opportunity to observe the applicant so that they are able to provide constructive comments regarding the consistency and quality of the applicant's behaviour and work product. Please indicate on the list of names where you worked with the reference and in what capacity (for example, supervisor, professor, or stakeholder).Preference will be given to candidates who are not called to the Bar in any Canadian provinces.Communication for this process will be sent via e-mail. Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance – At the time of appointment, candidates must meet the above condition of employment and maintain this condition throughout their employment Remain eligible for articles pursuant to the rules of the relevant law society (i.e. the province or territory in which you are applying) or the Chambre des Notaires in the province of Québec at the time of appointment and throughout employment as an articling student.

Occupational Certification and Education:
Articling students (not yet eligible for membership in the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Order of Notaries in the Province of Quebec) must hold a bachelor of law degree (i.e. Bachelor of Law (LL.B), Juris Doctor (J.D.), LL.L, or equivalent) at the time of appointment.Note: If you obtained your law degree from outside of Canada, you must apply to the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) or the Barreau du Quebec to have your legal education credentials evaluated. It is your responsibility to arrange for completion of the NCA or Barreau du Quebec’s requirements in time to commence your articles.

Preference
