About the position

Duties
Key Activities: Supervises work teams and leads project teams in the planning, design, development, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support of IT security solutions and services for clients. Provides specialized technical advice and guidance to management, colleagues and clients on the design, development, integration, testing, implementation and maintenance of IT security solutions and tools. Conducts cost-benefit analyses, prepares reports and develops documentation for IT security solutions. Recommends and implements improvements to work processes, standards, procedures and services.Leads the investigation of IT security incidents/violations and implementation of corrective actions. Provides advice and guidance in the development and delivery of risk mitigation strategies.Represents the team in meetings with managers, clients, technical staff and suppliers in order to obtain agreement on requirements for services or the resolution of technical issues.Leads projects and provides advisory services and functional leadership to project teams composed of technical staff and contractors, on complex technological issues affecting the development, testing, implementation, integration or maintenance of IT security solutions and services; and manages funds allocated to projects.Supervises and provides leadership to analysts and technicians, and ensures their ongoing professional development.
Intent of the process
📌 The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Dartmouth, NS. A pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM); may be established through this process to staff identical or similar IT‐03/SP-ICT-03 positions on a temporary or permanent full‐time basis. Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Conditions of employment
