About the position
Duties
Working as part of the Visitor Facilities Attendant team, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining visitor facilities in remote and wilderness settings. This may include visitor centres, campgrounds, rustic cabins, kitchen shelter, picnic areas, vault toilets, wash stations, barbeques, fire pits, garbage receptacle, trails, kiosks, interpretive exhibits and staff office buildings.Tasks include but are not limited to:
-operate a pressure washer, vacuum, sweep, mop,
-wash windows/furnishings,
-trash removal, sort and haul recyclables,
-trimming vegetation and pulling weeds.
-interacting with public by providing a friendly welcome and may have to address or redirect visitor inquiries.

Obtain and maintain valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent throughout your employment.
Operational Requirements
• Willingness to live in a remote location with limited services
• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment.
• Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays.
• Willingness to perform duties in various locations within the park. The position requires the incumbent to:
• Work alone with little to no supervision
• Have reliable transportation to get to and from workplace

• Experience in cleaning facilities (this includes any voluntary experience)

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working or living in remote locations
• Experience performing minor operational maintenance tasks
• Experience in grounds maintenance such as cleaning outdoors toilets and garbage receptacles
• Experience with general computer use such as email, inventory tracking using excel, and product ordering.
• Knowledge of how to apply health and safety procedures at the work site
