⭐AS-05 SENIOR PROJECT OFFICER⭐
Role Overview: Senior Project Officer
The Senior Project Officer supports the strategic alignment and continuous improvement of chaplaincy services. The role involves analysis, documentation, and collaboration to ensure services reflect departmental priorities and meet institutional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Service Alignment:
Analyze contractor and departmental reports to ensure chaplaincy services align with unit strategies.
• Strategic Analysis:
Review policies to guide service planning and decision-making.
• Documentation:
Prepare briefing notes, reports, and strategic documents to support operations and planning.
• Advisory Role:
Provide guidance on chaplaincy issues, service evaluations, and policy alignment.
Evaluation and Innovation:
Contribute to program evaluations and support initiatives that improve and innovate spiritual care services for offenders.
⭐AS-05 REGIONAL CHAPLAIN⭐
Role Overview: Regional Chaplains guide chaplaincy services in both community and institutional settings. They provide important advice about spiritual services and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Service Delivery Advice: Provide advice on chaplaincy services.
• Policy Advice: Assist sites to implement policies, such as facilitation of religious observance, including safety concerns, and religious accommodations.
• Collaboration: Work with contractors and managers to implement annual service plans and provide operational support.
• Site Visits: Plan and lead visits to institutions to review quality of services.
• Meetings: Organize regional chaplaincy meetings and share best practices.
Working within a community of practice for the administration of chaplaincy services for offenders in the care and custody of CSC, we are a bilingual, religiously diverse team where the national manager (supervisor) may not be in the same locale and colleagues are dispersed throughout the country. Although there is a requirement to occasionally visit institutions or parole offices, the position does not normally require direct, regular contact with offenders.
Approximately 90% of the work is undertaken at a desk in an office space in front of a computer.
*Regional Chaplains report nationally without immediate team members with them in the regional offices.
