Duties

The Materiel Management team is looking for someone interested in business analysis and implementing innovative solutions.

The person must take on a leadership role in analyzing operational needs and processes, defining and/or reviewing the “as-is” model to facilitate the provision of materiel and related policy tools to meet operational needs.

They will identify areas for improvement and work with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for implementing solutions that optimize performance and achieve operational and strategic objectives related to equipment: uniform apparels, accessories, armament, vehicles, and specialized equipment.

The person will be responsible for conducting research, in-depth analyses, and presentations to facilitate decision-making at the senior management level, as well as developing requirements statements used in procurement projects.

Work environment

The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. It has its own classification, compensation system, and staffing regime. Persons appointed to the PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a post-secondary educational program* related to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.

*The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:
E1 - *Recent and **significant experience in consulting various groups and stakeholders in order to determine operational requirements;

E2 - *Recent and **significant experience in making recommendations to management;

E3 - *Recent and **significant experience in analyzing diverse sources of documentation and producing reports.

E4 - Recent* and significant** experience in project and/or program management

DEFINITIONS:
*Recent means within the last seven (7) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over two (2) years.

AE2 – Experience in business analysis using techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, DMAIC, DMADV, Kaizen, 5 Whys, etc.
