The intent of this process is to staff full-time permanent/indeterminate and term EC-03 positions in Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan.

A combined pool of qualified candidates may be established inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM) for Intelligence Analyst positions with various tenures and locations in Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization* in economics, sociology or statistics.
*Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
If you do not have a degree in one of these specializations, please list the relevant courses you have taken and/or the experience that is related. Experience will be evaluated in terms of the amount, complexity and diversity of work performed, and level of responsibility for a wide variety of projects demonstrated.

EXPERIENCE
• Experience* in conducting research, evaluating and analyzing information, and producing written reports;
• Experience* in applying analytical techniques or the qualitative/quantitative methodology within a file or research project;
• Experience* in working within a team on a file or research project.
*Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a minimum of (1) year.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
• Experience leading a major analytical file or project;
• Experience conducting open source, social network or social media research and analysis;
• Experience working in the financial services industry (e.g. banking sector, finance, or risk management);
• Experience working in cyber security, national security or law enforcement environments;
• Experience conducting threat or risk assessments;
• Experience in preparing and presenting briefing material for decision-makers to advance a file or project in an operational environment.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT
• Willingness and ability to complete the Intelligence Analyst Understudy Training Program (some positions).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Enhanced Reliability Status with Top Secret security clearance;
• Ability to work overtime, as and when required and on short notice;
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally to attend training or work away from home, as necessary;
• Ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material;
• Ability to testify in court;
• Willingness and ability to work shift work - shift work required for Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC) positions only.
