Duties

What is an Audit Trainee?

A performance audit is a type of audit unique to legislative audit offices. We designed a 2-year Performance Audit Trainee Program to attract and develop high-calibre employees. The program supports university postgraduates to develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities to conduct performance audits, and it involves formal training, practical experience, and mentoring.

Your audit work will provide information to help legislators determine how well federal and territorial government policies and programs have been implemented. Most of your work experience will come from different audit assignments that consist of examining the management of practices, controls, and reporting systems of government departments, agencies, and Crown corporations.

You will work in an engaging environment and be given challenges on various assignments with opportunities for advancement.
