Junior Materiel Acquisition & Support Officer

The PG Fundamental Program is a one-year development program, where employees are hired into the Program at the PG-01 group and level and after the successful completion of the Program, they will graduate as a PG-02. Our mission is to equip new and aspiring procurement and materiel management professionals with the essential skills, knowledge, and experience required to build a successful career within DND.
As a PG-01 trainee, you will complete comprehensive training and developmental work assignments and participate in various workshops hosted by subject matter experts. You will be supported with dedicated coaching throughout the year program and will have access to on-the-job placements supervised by experienced procurement and materiel management professionals.

⭐Location
Positions are available within the National Capital Region. Trainees will be required to work at various DND buildings within Ottawa and Gatineau sectors.
⭐Career Path
Trainees accepted into the Program are initially appointed into a PG-01 position. Upon successful completion of all mandatory program requirements, trainees will be appointed to the PG-02 level. As a fully qualified PG-02 within the Materiel Group, graduated trainees will assume significant roles and responsibilities in procurement and/or materiel management operations.
Together, DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) form the largest and most complex organization in Canada. DND's role is to provide services and support to the CAF in their operations and missions at home and abroad. DND and the CAF work side-by-side to fulfill the Government of Canada’s mission to defend Canada and Canadians and contribute to international peace, security, and stability efforts.

The initial intent of this process is to fill multiple PG-01 English essential positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Ottawa, Ontario with a start date of September 2025*.
In the future, multiple PG-01 bilingual (BBB/BBB) positions will be filled on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Ottawa, Ontario with a start date of January 2026*.
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence.
*Please note that the start dates indicated above are provisional and subject to change.

• Materiel management
• Inventory control
