About the Role:

Corus Audio has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Program Director & Digital Strategist in our Toronto office. This is a key role, reporting to the Program Director that will be responsible for all programming logistics – on-air, on-line and on-site, including technical and imaging co-ordination. The successful applicant will have skills and experience rooted in the best practices of radio broadcast but will have a bold vision to take our network to the next level of audience engagement in 2024 and beyond.

You will contribute by:

  • Assisting the Program Director in the implementation of tactics born of the strategic plan.
  • Works directly with part-time junior employees to train and assess their progress.
  • Co-ordinates specialty feature programming from outside sources such as syndicated talk shows and externally produced paid programming.
  • Communication with all staff on any technical or programming issues to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Create regular CanCon, Sox Compliancy and SOCAN reports as required.
  • Attend regular programming meetings.
  • On-air hosting of a show from occasionally to full-time.
  • Other duties as required.


Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Post-secondary Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Broadcasting, Radio Television Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Must have at least 10 years of talk & news radio programming experience
  • A deep understanding of news and talk operations and culture.
  • Finely tuned leadership skills and the ability to motivate a talented team.
