Summary

The Accounting Services team is seeking a highly motivated Manager to support the organization’s transformation journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partners delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best-in-class people, processes, and innovation.

This role is primarily focused on supporting the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial close and reporting processes within Accounting Services, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including the use of automation and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the transformation of the financial results close function through centralization and optimization
  • Support the financial results close process to ensure accurate, complete and timely results through:
    • Partnership with various business unit stakeholders to understand the business
    • Review and critical analysis of financial results
    • Management of risks and provisions
    • Support of various internal and external reporting
  • Preparation and review of month-end journal entries and reconciliations

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify areas of potential improvement in existing processes and support the implementation of changes that increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the Accounting Services Automation Project (ASAP) team by contributing to initiatives that optimize reconciliations and related financial processes
  • Identify gaps in financial reporting and partner with appropriate teams to resolve
  • Leverage available technology, including automation and emerging AI capabilities, to enhance efficiency, improve data quality, and support strong control outcomes

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce and/or relevant financial reporting experience
  • CPA designation
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience and strong working knowledge of SAP and related accounting systems is required
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues and drive resolution. Attention to detail, speed and accuracy

Automation & Innovation

  • Exposure to automation tools, AI, or machine learning technologies is considered an asset
  • Interest in continuous improvement and the use of digital tools to enhance financial processes
  • Ability to support a culture of innovation with a willingness to learn new technologies and ways of working
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex issues and processes simple and understandable
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate across teams and management levels

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
