The IDC Analytics team is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Business Analyst I to join our team and contribute to the analytics foundation that powers AWS Marketing’s demand generation engine. In this entry-level role, you will execute analyses, build dashboards, and support the data pipelines that underpin campaign performance reporting across the IDC organization. You will work closely with senior analysts and marketing stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely reporting while developing your analytical skills in a fast-paced, data-rich environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who is passionate about turning raw data into actionable insights, enjoys hands-on SQL and dashboard work, and wants to grow their craft within one of the most analytically driven marketing teams at AWS.
Key job responsibilities
• Execute analytical requests from marketing stakeholders, delivering accurate data pulls, ad-hoc analyses, and structured summaries
• Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in QuickSight to support campaign performance tracking and operational visibility
• Write SQL queries against Redshift to extract and transform marketing data for reporting and analysis
• Perform data quality checks and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting pipelines
• Support senior analysts in developing measurement frameworks, attribution analyses, and funnel reporting
• Collaborate with data engineering to troubleshoot ETL pipeline issues and improve data reliability
• Use AI tools (such as Kiro IDE, Amazon Quick, and MCP-based assistants) to accelerate data exploration, query generation, and reporting workflows
• Support the development of AI-powered automations for data validation and report generation, reducing manual turnaround times
• Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements from marketing stakeholders, translating them into Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) used by D:SE (Data Science & Engineering) and S&O (Strategy & Operations) teams to build and enhance performance dashboards
• Document analytical methodologies, query logic, and reporting processes in team knowledge bases
• Prepare data summaries and visualizations for weekly and monthly business reviews
A day in the life
Your focus is turning marketing data into clear answers. Most mornings, you’ll check dashboards to see how campaigns perform, dig into anomalies, and share findings with the marketers running those campaigns before they even ask. You’ll write SQL against large datasets to deep dive and do root cause analysis - connecting top of funnel metrics to revenue impact. You’ll partner with teams to translate their questions into structured analytical plans, and use AI tools to automate reporting, validate data, and speed up your workflows. When something interesting surfaces, you won’t wait to be asked - you’ll bring it to the table.
