Description

Amazon is hiring an IT Support Engineer to deploy and maintain the technology infrastructure that powers fulfilment and logistics operations across Australia. This is an opportunity to join a specialist deployment team that brings new sites online and upgrades existing facilities across the national network. The role involves significant travel (50-60% of the time, up to 3 weeks per assignment) working hands-on with networking equipment, operational technology, and cross-functional teams at warehouse and logistics sites.

As an IT Support Engineer in the deployment team, you will be equal parts field engineer and project coordinator. Your work will span the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure delivery across Amazon’s Australian fulfilment network. From racking switches and commissioning workstations at a brand new site, to validating structured cabling and handing over completed systems to local support teams. You will manage vendor relationships on the ground, coordinate with construction and operations stakeholders, and own the quality of every deployment you touch. This is a physical, hands-on role where you see the direct result of your work every time a new site goes live.

Key job responsibilities
- Deliver IT infrastructure projects for new site launches, retrofits, and technology upgrades across Amazon’s Australian fulfilment and logistics network.
- Install, configure, and commission network equipment, workstations, printers, scanners, and operational technology on-site.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships during deployments, ensuring work quality, schedule adherence, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with Operations, Construction, Facilities, and Safety teams to align IT delivery with broader site launch timelines.
- Validate completed deployments against acceptance criteria before handing over to steady-state support teams.
- Own project documentation including progress reporting, as-built records, and lessons learned.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians during deployment phases.
