About the Role
As an Senior Network & Systems Engineer - Lead, you use your technical knowledge and specialized skills to support, build, implement, and improve technology solutions across sites in a defined geographical area. You manage large projects with minimal guidance that affect multiple locations in a region. You resolve customer issues in crisis situations and are actively expanding your scope into software design patterns, data structures, AWS technologies, and distributed systems.
Key job responsibilities
Technical Operations & Infrastructure
• Drive network excellence through advanced engineering, troubleshooting, and systems administration across multiple facilities
• Maintain critical systems uptime; serve as first escalation point for complex issues
• Troubleshoot difficult IT problems without established SOPs; resolve incidents under time pressure
• Demonstrate complete networking expertise: routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, structured cabling (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, TCP/IP, subnetting, network security protocols)
• Plan and coordinate Change Management (CMs) and CM templates across the region
Project Execution & Automation
• Lead and execute regional technical projects from conception to completion with minimal guidance
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver infrastructure improvements and technology rollouts
• Automate manual tasks; create and improve tools that increase team efficiency
• Manage large-scale initiatives impacting multiple sites within the region
Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve recurring challenges and prevent future incidents
• Lead continuous improvement efforts across processes, documentation, and tooling
• Design and implement efficient IT solutions; develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
• Actively expand knowledge in software design patterns, data structures, AWS technologies, and distributed systems
People Development & Quality Assurance
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of team members
• Audit work quality and provide constructive feedback; mentor junior engineers
• Present training and partner with development teams on complex issues
Customer Support & Collaboration
• Provide expert technical support across multiple buildings and remote sites
• Provide on-call support beyond business hours during critical incidents; ensure minimal downtime
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally across a wide variety of stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery
• 4+ years of IT systems or relevant commercial production environment experience
• 4+ years of networking (DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, routing protocols)
• 4+ years of Windows/Server administration, Linux administration, or Cisco IOS (CLI)
• 4+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user, high-availability environment
• Experience with new site launches including end-to-end IT infrastructure buildout and go-live support
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across operations, engineering, vendors, and leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
