Bellevue, WA, USA
We're building AI and computer vision systems that protect over 1.5 million people at work every day, and we need a senior technical leader to drive this mission forward.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager on our Workplace Health & Safety Data-Tech team, you will own the strategy and delivery of large-scale programs that apply computer vision, machine learning, and generative AI to detect, analyze, and prevent workplace safety incidents across Amazon's global operations. You'll partner with applied scientists and software engineers to take research from prototype to production, define the technical roadmap, and deliver measurable safety outcomes.
This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, has deep fluency in AI/ML systems, and can lead multiple engineering and science teams through complex technical challenges. You'll influence investment decisions, author organizational strategy documents, and communicate directly with senior executives. If you're passionate about using technology to make people's lives safer, and you love the intersection of advanced science and real-world impact, this is the role for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Own program strategy, roadmap, and end-to-end delivery for computer vision and AI-powered safety initiatives spanning multiple engineering and applied science teams
- Partner with applied scientists and ML engineers to translate research into production-grade systems, managing the unique complexities of model development, validation, and deployment at scale
- Define and manage technical dependencies across computer vision pipelines, edge inference infrastructure, IoT systems, and cloud services
- Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and make high-judgment tradeoff decisions that balance innovation speed with system reliability
- Author organizational strategy documents, build investment cases, and communicate program outcomes to senior executives
- Establish metrics and mechanisms to measure the real-world safety impact of AI/ML solutions, and drive continuous improvement
- Build scalable program management mechanisms that improve delivery quality and predictability across the science and engineering portfolio
- Influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across safety, operations, and central technology teams to drive coordinated delivery and adoption
