Amazon Business (AB) launched in the United States in April 2015 with the vision of delivering a comprehensive procurement solution for business customers of all sizes. AB now serves Fortune 500 companies, hospital systems, local governments, and education organizations. AB has expanded inter­na­tionally into 8 countries.

The Finance team plays a critical leadership role partnering with the category leaders, operations and technology teams to continuously innovate, delight customers, grow and optimize their businesses for long term free cash flow. We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager with proven skills to lead all finance aspects for AB in Japan.

Besides being responsible for the table-stakes (Controllership, Process Improvement, Performance Management), the Finance leader will be working closely with senior business leadership in identifying, creating, and driving innovative solutions and programs for growing topline, driving business efficiencies, customer experience and optimized supply chain models.

The role will be managing programs critical to driving growth, and will act as a "Business Unit CFO". The role will work closely with cross-org partners, technology teams, inventory management specialists and is responsible for FP&A, marketing, sales productivity, product finance and customer analytics.

This highly visible role requires a candidate with the proven leadership to manage and coach a team (4), to influence senior stakeholders and steer business conversations to achieve great outcome for our customers. They should demonstrate high standards and must exercise considerable judgement, drive strategy and tactical execution, utilize written/verbal communication at a senior executive level.



Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
· Partnering with Vice Presidents and Directors to drive complex strategic initiatives and long term success with worldwide AB scalability.

· Oversees all initiatives to go big on our flywheel inputs, accelerate e-procurement integration, improve critical capabilities (invoicing) while reducing cost to serve.

· Gathering analytical insights and developing financial frameworks that inform business improvement.

· Responsible for driving broad insights that shape the growth strategy and profitability for the AB JP organization with a team of 3 finance managers and 1 senior finance analyst.

· Partners with different teams including payments, legal, tax, DEX, 3P and retail to drive AB customer experience improvement, deliver new projects and evaluate trade-offs and prioritization on resource investment.

· Influences key initiatives across Commercial and Public Sector as well as strategic accounts to drive customer acquisition, engagement and managed spend deals.

A day in the life
This Sr Finance Manager role oversees JP Amazon Business with a team of 2 finance managers and 2 senior finance analysts. The role drives growth strategy and profitability insights across Commercial, Public Sector, and strategic accounts—focusing on customer acquisition, engagement, and managed spend. It leads initiatives to accelerate flywheel inputs, e-procurement integration, and critical capabilities (invoicing) while reducing cost to serve. The leader partners with the business on complex financial challenges with worldwide AB scalability, and collaborates with payments, legal, tax, delivery experience, 3P, and retail teams to improve customer experience, deliver projects, and prioritize resource investment.
