- Develop and manage detailed material plans aligned with program schedules and build requirements
- Drive purchase order placement, tracking, and delivery to ensure on-time material availability for build and ramp
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Proactively identify supply chain risks(long lead time component, design changes, capacity constraint)
- Develop mitigation strategies including alternate sourcing, risk buys, schedule adjustments and inventory repositioning
- Maintain clear visibility of material risks and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders
Cross-functional Alignment
- Act as the primary point of contact for material readiness, driving alignment across engineering, program management, procurement, and contract manufacturers.
- Provide regular updates on material status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders and leadership.
- Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and scenario analysis.
Inventory & E&O Management
- Manage NPI material inventory, including Excess & Obsolescence (E&O), to minimize financial exposure.
- Balance supply and demand during design changes, build iterations, and program transitions.
Process Improvement & Mechanism Development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance NPI material planning, tracking, and execution.
- Develop scalable tools, dashboards, and mechanisms to improve visibility and efficiency.
- Standardize best practices across programs to improve predictability and execution quality.

A day in the life
- Review material readiness status across multiple NPI programs, identifying gaps against upcoming build requirements.
- Follow up with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve delivery issues and secure critical components.
- Analyze supply risks (lead time changes, shortages, design updates) and develop mitigation plans.
- Lead cross-functional meetings to align on material status, risks, and recovery actions.
- Update stakeholders with clear, data-driven summaries on program readiness and key escalations.
- Drive execution of purchase orders and expedite critical materials to meet timelines.
- Continuously refine tracking tools and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making.
