Description

Operations is at the heart of Amazon's business. We are known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service. Our buildings deliver tens of thousands of products to hundreds of countries worldwide, every day. The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team are the business partners that work tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen. We drive continuous improvement and maintain all the robotics and material handling equipment (MHE) to ensure our customers are met with the Amazon smile. Come join us on our journey!

Key job responsibilities
• You will travel domestically up to 80%, conducting site visits across North America to validate execution quality, support critical retrofit phases, and ensure field learnings are captured and fed back into standards and future deployments
• You will own the Retrofit Quality Program end-to-end. Defining and implementing quality mechanisms including playbooks, readiness gates, audits, and KPIs. Ensuring consistent deployment standards and outcomes across multiple concurrent sites and programs
• You will establish and enforce site readiness criteria (staffing, training, spare parts, PM setup, and system readiness), driving defect reduction and elimination of repeat failures to ensure sites are fully prepared for go-live
• You will lead post-launch performance management by defining stabilization metrics and disengagement criteria, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for early-life failures, and ensuring sites achieve target OEE, availability, throughput, and quality outcomes
• You will act as the RME field advocate; influencing Engineering, Operations, Safety, and vendor partners to ensure design intent translates to field execution, while building scalable reporting mechanisms (WBR, dashboards) to track risk, readiness, and performance across the network

A day in the life
As the Senior Retrofit Quality Manager, you will lead the standardization, execution quality, and post-launch performance of retrofit programs across Amazon's fulfillment network. You will own the end-to-end quality lifecycle of retrofits; from pre-installation readiness, staffing and training, through execution and go-live, to post-launch performance and disengagement criteria. Acting as the voice of the RME field, you will partner with Engineering, Operations, and Central Teams to bridge the gap between design and real-world execution, eliminating repeat failures, improving installation consistency, and accelerating site stabilization at scale. This is a highly visible role requiring strong ownership, technical depth, and the ability to influence across multiple organizations.

This role requires up to 80% regional travel and availability to work from a corporate office or fulfillment center when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be within a reasonable commuting distance of the corporate office or fulfillment center.
