This Quality Technician role focuses on conducting inspections throughout production. The position requires 2+ years of quality inspection experience with the ability to read engineering drawings and use hand measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to verify conformance with engineering specifications, documenting results, and identifying non-conforming products.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Key job responsibilities
- Conducting regular inspections of components, assemblies, and systems during various stages of production to verify conformance with engineering specifications, drawings, and Quality standards
- Utilizing precision measuring instruments and advanced testing equipment to perform dimensional inspection and visual inspection
- Documenting inspection results, maintaining accurate records, and preparing detailed reports.
- Identifying non-conforming products, being able to clearly articulate the NC.
- Ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to guarantee accuracy and reliability of measurements.
- Utilize Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Work Instruction (WI) to complete required in process inspections.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering and production, to address quality concerns and implement preventive measures.
- Providing training and guidance to production personnel on quality-related topics and inspection techniques.
A day in the life
You will be a part of a high rate; Bar Raising Quality team utilize precision measuring tools to inspect components and assemblies, this also but not limited to the following:
- Perform and complete FAIs to AS9102 and present package to engineering for sign off.
- Inspect and buy off rework/repair activities
- Investigate hardware for defects, and create nonconformance reports for discrepant hardware
- Perform In-Process and Final inspections for assembly processes
- Develop Standard Operator Procedures (SOPs) for other inspectors to follow for day-to-day tasks. Train new inspectors on the correct usage of equipment and day to day responsibilities.
