Description

Amazon is seeking an experienced Capacity Manager to lead First Mile Capacity Planning for our Brazil operations. This role will drive the evolution of our capacity planning capabilities, implementing sophisticated, data-driven frameworks that balance cost efficiency with service excellence.

The ideal candidate will establish productivity-based capacity models, develop structured planning frameworks, and implement optimization tools that enable sustainable operational efficiency across our First Mile network. You will work closely with S&OP, Network Design, Middle Mile, and Operations teams to create an integrated capacity planning framework.

Key job responsibilities
Capacity Planning & Optimization
Own end-to-end First Mile capacity planning for Brazil, including Under the Roof (UTR) and On the Road (OTR) capacity dimensions across all Pick Up nodes and Seller Processing Centers (SPCs)
Develop productivity-based capacity models that establish correlations between volume, labor, productivity, and cost
Define capacity constraints for both UTR and OTR operations, including Transportation Capacity for seller pickups and productivity-based capacity ceilings
Model infrastructure capacity at collocated nodes where First Mile and Last Mile operations share resources
Partner with S&OP teams to enhance forecast quality by incorporating seasonal patterns and operational directives
Develop validation frameworks and quality metrics to assess forecast accuracy and reliability
Create feedback loops between actual performance and forecast inputs to drive continuous improvement

Cross-Functional Integration
Strengthening alignment between First Mile, Network Design, Capacity Planning, and Middle Mile teams to create integrated planning processes
Establish capacity frameworks and improve information flow across logistics operations
Build strong partnerships with operations teams to achieve delivery targets and productivity goals
Identify opportunities for route, vehicle, and volume consolidation to improve truck utilization and efficiency
Develop optimization frameworks (including Linear Programming and solver-based approaches) for network planning
Analyze transportation flows from Pickup Nodes to Processing and Sorting Centers to identify efficiency opportunities

Process Development & Efficiency
Implement automated, structured planning tools and frameworks for capacity management
Develop scenario analysis capabilities and constraint visibility dashboards
Create standardized processes and documentation to support scalable operations
Drive operational cost optimization through productivity-based capacity modeling and efficient resource allocation
Identify and quantify opportunities through improved capacity utilization and network efficiency
Balance cost optimization with service level requirements and growth objectives
