Position Responsibilities:
Lead design, network/code and security reviews across teams to identify risks and prevent classes of bugs prior to production release. Design and deploy Systems in our Network/Systems team to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new OS, hot-fixes for bugs and security vulnerabilities using automation. Design and deploy the configuration source for tens of thousands of network devices. Additionally, develop tools, device drivers, and orchestration mechanisms to consistently apply configurations across this large-scale device fleet. Perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, technology refresh, sustaining engineering, best practices application, optimization, internal/external customer interactions, and produce appropriate technical documentation. Work with leadership to decide on the projects that best support organization's and team's missions. Design ahead of customer or technology needs, always predicting and solving for problems that have not yet occurred. This takes the form of creating and defending High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documents, working with internal stakeholders to influence technology roadmaps, constructing and testing your solutions, and providing support to the teams that will deploy and operate these designs. Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
Position Requirements:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Business Administration,
Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field and five years of postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master's degree and three years of experience. Must have three years of experience in the following skills: (1) major internet routing protocols experience in a large enterprise environment (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and ISIS); (2) experience with IP networking fundamentals, application of IP protocols and network analysis fundamentals, and troubleshooting; (3) working with major network operating systems such as Cisco IOS or Junos; (4) working independently and in large project teams; (5) experience in large network environments (Cloud provider, ISP, Corporate Enterprise Networks, or large IP carrier networks); (6) experience with network analysis fundamentals; and (7) experience with Unix or Linux and scripting in Python, Perl, and Shell. Domestic and international travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
