Are you excited about partnering with UK Central Government departments to deliver large-scale, high-visibility programmes? Do you excel at applying programme management disciplines to drive strategic initiatives that shape how government organizations leverage cloud technology? If so, the AWS Global Government Delivery Organisation is looking for a Sr. Programme Manager with a proven record of delivering complex programmes in government environments.
This position focuses on the delivery of AWS services to our UK Central Government customers, including departments such as HMRC, DWP, Home Office, Cabinet Office, and other ministerial departments. This role requires strong programme governance, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership to solve complex problems. You will own end-to-end programme delivery—from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure—ensuring successful outcomes. The role involves leading diverse teams including sales, capture, business operations, legal, cybersecurity, solution architects, AWS Professional Services, and external partners and subcontractors. It entails regular communication with senior management and C-level executives on project status, performance, budget, risks, compliance posture, and strategic direction.
We seek an innovative programme manager who has extensive experience delivering large-scale solutions to UK Central Government. To be successful, the candidate must demonstrate strong programme management capabilities and excel at developing comprehensive project plans and managing multiple concurrent programmes with significant organizational dependencies, external partner coordination, and budgets exceeding £5M.
