Amazon
Are you passionate about advancing automated Material Handling Systems (MHS) and Robotics? Do you thrive on solving complex automation challenges through collaborative innovation? If you're excited about seeing your work transform modern robotics and material handling operations, you'll be a perfect fit at the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Robotics (FTR) organization. This dynamic team develops and maintains tools for automating the deployment, management, and monitoring of complex MHS, including conveyor networks, robotic workcells, and industrial control systems.
Amazon’s Operations Technology teams are the technical engines that support Amazon’s mission of being Earth’s most customer-centric company. We build the software and services that touch every Amazon customer globally and innovate solutions for logistics, supply chain optimization, and transportation. If you are a UX Designer with a creative flare, problem-solving skills, exposure to various technologies such as Machine Learning, we want to talk with you.
The UX Designer will support the Senior UX Designer in delivering the visualisation platform —integrated view combining robotic floor operations with material handling equipment (MHE) data in a single, real-time interface. This role is embedded within the Software Controls and Science (SCS) team and will partner closely with engineers across multiple disciplines to design intuitive, operator-facing interfaces for complex automation systems.
This role will play a hands-on part across the full design lifecycle: from user research and discovery through prototyping, validation, and cross-org design alignment. This is a high-impact engagement on a platform that directly influences how FC operators interact with conveyor networks, robotic workcells, and industrial control systems at Amazon scale.

- Synthesize research findings into personas, journey maps, task flows, and usability insights
- Facilitate workshops and contextual inquiry sessions to understand operator workflows in fulfillment center environments
Design & Prototyping
- Translate research inputs into wireframes, low-fidelity concepts, and high-fidelity mockups for the visualisation platform and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
- Build interactive prototypes to validate design decisions with end users and engineering partners
- Design for complex, data-dense interfaces including real-time equipment status dashboards, alert management views, and operator control panels
Cross-Org Collaboration & Design Alignment
- Partner with UX designers from other FTR organizations to build a consolidated, consistent visualisation platform across the broader FTR org
- Contribute to and maintain shared design systems, component libraries, and UX standards that scale across multiple visualisation platform applications
- Participate in design reviews, critique sessions, and cross-team alignment meetings
- Collaborate with front-end engineers, controls engineers, and robotics software teams to ensure design integrity through implementation
- Support handoff of design specifications, assets, and interaction documentation to engineering teams
