AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. This is an on-site position requiring regular presence at AWS offices and customer locations to deliver hands-on technical engagement and build strong customer relationships. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
As a Solution Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services including compute, storage, networking, database, analytics, application services, deployment, management, developer, mobile, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, agentic AI solutions, security, hybrid and enterprise applications within Enterprise Accounts including retail, transportation, e-commerce industries and more.
You will own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, with a strong focus on:
GenAI and Agentic AI adoption: Driving customer outcomes with generative AI solutions and intelligent automation
Migration and Modernization: Leading datacenter exit strategies, VMware migrations, and cloud-native transformation initiatives
Security and Resilience: Strengthening customer security posture and building resilient architectures
Customer Expansion: Accelerating adoption through technical excellence and outcome-driven engagement
The ideal candidate will develop deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how modern applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform, including containerization, serverless architectures, and AI/ML services.
You will possess customer-facing skills that allow you to represent AWS well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables you to easily interact and give guidance to software developers, architects, and C-level executives on digital transformation strategies.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team in enabling customers to build best practice, capabilities, and solutions on the AWS platform
- Scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria
- Own each technical enablement and engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community
A day in the life
As a Solution Architect at AWS, you'll drive customer success through technical excellence and strategic guidance. You'll engage with C-level executives and engineering teams on GenAI adoption strategies, lead modernization initiatives, and design cloud-native architectures. Your work includes conducting Well-Architected Reviews, facilitating Immersion Days and workshops, and collaborating with Account Managers and Specialist SAs on customer expansion strategies. You'll balance hands-on technical deep dives with executive-level discussions, directly impacting customer outcomes in datacenter exits, AI/ML workloads, and security resilience—making this role ideal for those who thrive at the intersection of technology and business transformation.
