The NA WHS Regulatory Response and Activity Manager will be responsible for responding timely and accurately to environmental, safety and health regulatory interactions. We are looking for someone who can contribute to the group’s operational excellence by assisting with the execution of our compliance life cycle and ensuring that high quality compliance inputs are provided in the process. To be successful, one must be comfortable working on repetitive case management tasks requiring strong judgment, have the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, and must be able to identify and document improvement opportunities within the processes you work on. One must have prior work experience in a professional setting, a cooperative attitude, and organizational skills. The position requires that you be self-motivated to learn the operations and data analytics, and will involve both independent and team work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between WW WHS Governance and all business units, such as CF WHS, GSF WHS and ATS WHS for continual alignment.
- Ensure quality and timely responses to regulatory agencies.
- Support building WHS competencies and awareness across different business units regarding regulatory requirements.
- Use of data and case management tools to identify trends related to regulatory interactions.
- Monitor performance of business units against applicable regulatory compliance and internal Amazon standards.
A day in the life
A regulatory response and activity case manager begins their day by reviewing incoming regulatory inquiries, inspections, and compliance matters from various agencies such as OSHA, fire authorities, and health departments. They prioritize cases based on urgency and potential impact, coordinating with site leadership, legal teams, and subject matter experts to gather necessary documentation and develop appropriate responses. Throughout the day, they track case progress in management systems, ensure timely submissions of required information, and maintain detailed records of all interactions with regulatory bodies. They also analyze trends across cases to identify systemic issues, provide guidance to operations teams on compliance requirements, and escalate critical matters to senior leadership.
