AWS Finance seeks a world class Sr. Financial Analyst to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the AWS Storage business.

The successful candidate will provide strong finance support and controllership for S3's costs, implement and drive the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans, identifying and quantifying financial/operational Risks and Opportunities to the business, and driving ad-hoc business projects.

This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management.

Key job responsibilities

- Driving financial planning & analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to support review of S3's costs and capacity
- Developing short and long range financial / operational forecasts of S3's infrastructure footprint
- Develop, track, and report relevant KPIs to shed financial and operational insights into the CapEx and OpEx drivers, and influence business decisions using data and communication skills
- Driving ad hoc financial analyses and projects

A day in the life
Your day revolves around cross-functional collaboration—partnering with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align capacity planning with business objectives while tracking actual usage and CapEx spend against plan. You'll spend significant time in meetings and discussions, translating complex technical requirements into financial implications, monitoring variances between forecasted and actual consumption, and communicating trade-offs to stakeholders. You'll quickly digest and process technical changes to AWS infrastructure to materialize those in financial impact, including investment returns, risk exposures, and discovering potential saving opportunities to provide business teams with meaningful and actionable recommendations. Throughout the day, you'll coordinate approval workflows, analyze spending trends, provide guidance to team members, and dedicate time to learning AI tools and other internal systems for continuous improvement, driving automation to enhance team efficiency.

Our work influences rack and server landings, procurement strategies, commercial deals, and supports new product pricing decisions.
