Amazon's Retail Business Services (RBS) team is looking for a Principal Program Manager to drive the Agentic AI Shopping Charter.
Overview of the role
Customer shopping behavior is undergoing the fastest transformation in a decade. Over 65% of Gen Z shoppers now begin their journey with AI assistants, social media, or conversational interfaces rather than traditional retail websites. Agentic AI recommendations are redefining how customers discover, evaluate, and purchase.
Amazon’s current discovery model must evolve toward conversational, context-aware, and autonomous experiences.
The Principal, Agentic AI Shopping will lead Amazon’s internal capability to understand, audit, and innovate within this agentic commerce paradigm, ensuring Amazon remains the world leader in shopping innovation.
Key Responsibilities
-Define Amazon’s Agentic AI Shopping strategy and establish the long-term vision for autonomous, intent-driven commerce experiences.
-Develop and own the Agentic Shopping Audit Framework (ASAF) to assess Amazon’s readiness for AI-led customer experiences.
-Conduct deep competitive and behavioral analysis across external Agentic AI platforms and solutions to anticipate shifts in customer behavior.
-Partner with internal tech and product teams to translate findings into customer experience roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
-Create external benchmarking mechanisms to track innovation in AI commerce and position Amazon as the industry thought leader.
-Influence senior leadership decisions by translating research, data, and strategic insights into clear recommendations.
-Mentor and guide senior PMs and Principals in understanding agentic commerce, fostering a culture of innovation and customer obsession.
Basic Qualifications
-10+ years experience in product management, strategy, or applied AI/ML in large-scale digital ecosystems.
-Proven track record defining and launching customer-facing AI products or next-generation CX frameworks.
-Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, lead cross-functional initiatives, and establish clarity through mechanisms.
-Strong analytical background with experience in data-driven decision-making and competitive analysis.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence executive stakeholders and technical partners.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with conversational AI, personalization systems, or shopping assistants.
-Deep understanding of customer psychology and digital shopping behavior trends.
-Demonstrated ability to translate technology evolution into business strategy.
-Recognized thought leader: patents, publications, or speaking engagements in AI or commerce.
-MBA or advanced degree in computer science, data science, or behavioral economics preferred.
